What GARR Certification Establishes for a Recovery Residence
Certification through GARR, Georgia's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, is voluntary in a state that does not license recovery residences at all. A certified program agrees in writing to a code of ethics, discloses its fees and rules before move-in, keeps a written relapse and discharge policy, and accepts inspection and outside complaint review. In a rural county with few alternatives, that record is the one thing a family in another state can actually check before sending someone.
Faith and Work in the Program Structure
24/7 House runs a Christ centered program that pairs a biblical foundation with twelve step work, and describes itself as a therapeutic community. Residents are expected to be eighteen or older and capable of functioning in that setting without medical supervision. Employment is part of the model. Residents work with approved employers once sobriety is established, and their earnings carry their share of the household. People who want a strictly secular house should know the character of this one before they apply.
Men and Women in Separate Households
The residence serves both men and women, in separate living arrangements referred to as the men's transition and the girls' house. A coed program with divided housing keeps single-gender bedrooms and bathrooms while allowing one intake process and one set of rules, which is how most rural Georgia operators handle a service area too small to fill two entirely separate programs.

Our foundation is built strongly upon spiritual, clinical, and therapeutic principles that allow and provide for successful recovery.
It is a comprehensive program that requires a minimum one-year commitment. Our staff has worked diligently to achieve the stringent standards set forth by the Georgia Association of Recovery Residences (G.A.R.R.) and the Transitional Housing for Offender Reentry (T.H.O.R.).
