Cost of recovery housing in Florida

The going rate for sober living in Florida is around $205 a week. Oxford House works on an equal share of what the home actually costs, not a set rent, so treat that as the market rather than this address. Median gross rent in Florida sits at $1,669 a month. Florida Department of Children and Families is where that funding sits.

How the Oxford House model works

Oxford Houses are self-governing households, covered by the members' equal shares and required to stay substance-free. New members are chosen by a house vote, so an opening is not the same thing as an acceptance.

Certification and oversight in Florida

No state licence is required to run a recovery residence in Florida. Homes that want certification apply to Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR), the state NARR affiliate. Certification by the state affiliate and an Oxford House charter are different things; this home holds the latter. Florida publishes its certified-residence directory. Residents are covered by the Fair Housing Act federally and by Florida Fair Housing Law (Florida Statutes Section 760.23).
