Lamar Women's Transitional Living Women's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Lamar Women's Transitional Living is a certified sober house for women in Lamar, Colorado, the seat of Prowers County on the state's southeastern plains. It is run by Advantage Treatment Centers, a nonprofit operating transitional housing across three southeastern and northeastern Colorado towns.

A Women's Sober House in Lamar

The house holds four residents and keeps a shared kitchen and living area at the center of the household. Advantage Treatment Centers sets the monthly fee at $450, covering housing while a resident works toward independent living. Restricting the house to women means the household rules, meetings and shared space are all built around one population.

What ORH-CO Certification Means Here

This house is certified through Ohio Recovery Housing – Colorado, the state's certifying body. Certification obliges a written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, a documented relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process a resident can raise outside the house. In a small plains town with few housing alternatives, that record gives a prospective resident something concrete to check.

A Program Built Around Structure and Case Management

Advantage Treatment Centers pairs its Lamar houses with a house manager, a judicial navigator and a peer specialist, and connects residents to employment through its partnership with RESADA. The organization describes its transitional living as the piece that keeps sobriety from unraveling once formal treatment ends.

Prowers County and the Southeastern Plains

Lamar is the county seat of Prowers County and the largest town for miles along the Arkansas River valley in southeastern Colorado. For a woman finishing treatment in this part of the state, Lamar concentrates the courts, outpatient services and employers that a smaller surrounding town cannot support on its own.
