About this Sober House
Magdalene House - Rio Paseo is a women's recovery residence in Litchfield Park, Arizona, in Maricopa County, run by Bridges Reentry, Inc. as part of its two-year residential program for women rebuilding their lives after incarceration.
A Women's Recovery Residence in the West Valley
Rio Paseo is one of two Magdalene House properties Bridges Reentry operates in the west valley of metropolitan Phoenix, both placed inside master-planned communities rather than a standalone facility. Arizona keeps exact addresses for recovery residences out of public record, so residents and referring agencies arrange placement directly through the organization rather than through a published street address.
A Two-Year Program for Women Leaving Incarceration
Bridges Reentry built Magdalene House around a full two years of housing, longer than most sober living stays, on the premise that women coming out of incarceration need more time than a standard 90-day program allows to rebuild income, custody arrangements and a support network from scratch.
Living in the Community, Not Apart From It
Rather than clustering residents in an institutional setting, Bridges Reentry places Magdalene House residents inside ordinary neighborhoods, where they live as neighbors rather than as residents of a labeled facility. That approach is a deliberate response to the stigma women with incarceration histories often face when housing is visibly separate from the surrounding community.
Beyond Housing: The Beyond the Gates Program
Bridges Reentry pairs its housing with Beyond the Gates Mentoring, a 12-month one-to-one mentoring track for women recently released from Perryville Prison. Residents at Rio Paseo have access to that mentoring alongside the housing itself, addressing mental health, economic independence and physical wellbeing as a package rather than housing alone.
Recovery Housing in Maricopa County's West Valley
Litchfield Park and the surrounding west valley communities give Bridges Reentry residents access to Phoenix's broader job market and social services while keeping daily life in a quieter, more residential setting than the urban core.
Reaching Bridges Reentry
Referrals and applications for Magdalene House go through Bridges Reentry, Inc. directly, and the organization works closely with reentry programs serving women leaving Arizona's prison system.
