Additionally, the town has four schools that are administered by the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District. 

The Town of Woodbury and the area formerly known as Woodbury Falls were incorporated by an act of the Orange County Board of Supervisors on December 19, 1889. The following year, on March 4, Supervisor John A. Patterson presided over the first town meeting. James Seaman was the second Supervisor. Even though the land is no longer used for farming, the Seaman family property is still identifiable by a sign along Route 32 at the northern end of town that reads “Sweet Clover Farm.” This property is now occupied by Palaia Vineyards.The town’s median household income was $79,087, and the median family income was $84,156. Males earned a median income of $59,744, while females earned $37,695. The town’s per capita income was $28,566. Around 1.8 percent of families (3.3 percent of the population) lived below the poverty line, including 3.1 percent of children under the age of 18 and 1.6 percent of those 65 and older.

New York sober living homes are not subject to certification. Some states certify sober living homes under the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, or NARR. Though New York State is not one of them, NARR has released new information that New York will soon offer sober living certification.
