For sober living to be certified by MARR, the operators must adhere to a set of strict criteria to meet the standards to be a certified sober house or certified sober living facility. These certification requirements include operator training, sober home inspections, recovery residence policies and procedures, and document review. Residents in a Maine-certified sober house can expect better service from a certified recovery residence than a sober house that is not certified.
