West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences
Certification for sober residences in West Virginia is issued by the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences (WVARR). They promote honesty, respect, responsibility, and fairness. The West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences began in 2018. It is an affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) a nonprofit organization committed to increasing the availability of structured, high quality, and effective recovery and sober living housing. WVARR implements the standards of NARR across the state of West Virginia. WVARR certification designates homes that are compliant with the standards set by NARR, and also the NARR Code of Ethics.

WVARR envisions that all persons in recovery from addiction have access to the recovery supports they need to achieve their goals and live rewarding and fulfilling lives free of stigma. The mission of WVARR is to serve as a unified voice advocating for and educating about the recovery residence community in West Virginia, and to create a framework and system for implementing operational best practices in line with NARR standards, including capacity building.
