Sober House Description:
My name is Toby Wagner and I am the Executive Director of Recovery Trail. I would like to share a little of my personal story and the evolution of this adventure.
By the grace of God and my recovery family, I have been sober since February 26, 2010. I have been deeply immersed in the local recovery community since then. Service work and helping others have been a key element in my recovery. Over the past 8 years, I have shared my experience by carrying the message of hope into the Sevier County Jail every Wednesday night. I have been a committee member for the Great Smoky Mountain Recovery Campout for the past 6 years and continue to serve in various positions in area 12 step meetings. Last year, I felt drawn to do more. I realized there was more help needed for individuals who desperately wanted a new way of life but have toxic home environments that feed the cycle of relapse.
In October 2017, I began the process to form Recovery Trail as a nonprofit. As of May 1, 2018, we obtained our 501(c)(3) status and have now set forth on a mission to provide a safe living environment for those who WANT to recover and return as productive members of our community. PLEASE help us. Our program will teach accountability, self-reliance, and a spiritual connection that will build self-esteem and self worth. We are not affiliated with any religious denomination. This disease honors no such borders. We instead seek to model a Godly life of love for and service to others. There is one who has all power, that One is God.
