Purpose House Transitional Homes aren’t your typical halfway sober houses. We treat our clients with dignity and respect. We watch them grow in their recovery in a good recovery house and learn how to manage more and more aspects of their lives.

When they commence out of our sober living program, they are stronger and healthier than when they first moved in.  We are dedicated to providing the finest faith-based, male and female residential sober houses in Southwest Florida.

When Alan Tobiason, Purpose House Founder, and Executive Director, first read the book The Purpose Driven Life, he had no idea how it would change his life, let alone countless others. Through his own recovery journey, Alan Tobiason met too many people living life without purpose.  The powerful impact of this book set the framework for Purpose House’s approach to recovery. In fact, our Founder, Alan Tobiason, still teaches a Purpose Driven Life class at Sarasota’s Salvation Army Center for Hope.

The purpose-driven life is a 40-day Bible Study, which took churches by storm in recent years. Written by Rick Warren, the lead pastor at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest California, this book addresses two of life’s most basic questions:​

• What on earth am I here for?

• How do I find my purpose?

Most self-help books tell people to look within at their own desires and dreams, but real meaning and significance comes from understanding and fulfilling God’s purpose for putting us on earth. Our starting place must be with God and his eternal purposes for each life.  Rick Warren explains, “The greatest tragedy is not death, but life without purpose.”
