Sober House Description:

ABOUT ODYSSEY SOBER LIVING HOUSING

It starts with a safe environment to live in. We provide sober homes where guests come to rebuild their lives based upon a new foundation of sobriety.

To provide safe drug and alcohol free housing solutions for a diverse population of people.

Odyssey Sober living was created to SHORTEN your journey to long term sobriety by providing a structured, accountable, compassionate place to heal and rebuild your life. We KNOW it is made easier with a safe environment shared by others who have experienced many of the same pitfalls and had similar struggles including staying clean and sober.

A full time, live-in manager helps to provide the structure and accountability necessary for a safe environment optimal for recovery. The value in living with others like us is creating a community to rely on when we can’t necessarily rely on ourselves ‘just yet’. Residents are drug tested on a regular basis to ensure a clean and safe house. One on one interactions between clients and staff ensure that our clients are accountable and have a safe and comfortable environment to rebuild their lives in.

RECOVERY PROGRAM

What we have found, in our many years of experience, is what works the best, for the most is a structured recovery program. Based on that it is necessary for our residents to work a “program of recovery”. To us that means the twelve step programs of Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous. We certainly encourage other recovery programs as well including Smart Recovery or Refuge Recovery. We require residents to attend and work their programs which often include Outpatient Treatment and/or some form of therapy.

PRODUCTIVE LIVING

For us productive living means life goes on in a self supporting way. Many addicts lives have STOPPED being productive as a result of their addiction. Living in one of our houses commits a resident to daily chores, wake up times, curfews, return to work, going to school, volunteering or participating in the community in some way that assists in regaining self worth and independence. It is a place to gain or regain the live skills necessary to be successful at living life.

More About Odyssey Sober Living

Founded by three individuals, all in recovery, from different walks of life, that have a desire to be of service and provide affordable recovering homes in a city getting too costly for those in early recovery who are working at cleaning up the wreckage of their pasts.

We believe that the alcoholic and addict can fully recover from a hopeless state of mind and body.
It’s all about providing an environment optimal for recovery to take place. Odyssey Sober Living provide a structured living environment for independent adults actively participating in recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. Our live-in managers assist in providing the structure, accountability and encouragement to facilitate the best chance of long term recovery.

CAMPUS SOBER LIVING

Campus Sober Living is designed to create a safe haven for students who prefer to live in an environment free from drugs and alcohol. You don’t have to be in recovery to live in one of our student homes but you do need to be drug and alcohol free and be a registered student.

DRUG TESTING

Ongoing drug testing is always available through Odyssey Sober Living. Everyone living in one of our homes will be randomly drug tested by staff. Frequency of tests will depend on the type of housing you are in.

TRANSITIONAL PLANNING

As men and women transition out of Odyssey managed sober living and make their way into their own apartments and homes it is important to have a solid recovery plan in place that allows a safety net and some continued accountability.

ABOUT OUR STAFF

MIKE FLANNERY
Business Development

Having the opportunity to work as the Director for Odyssey Sober Living allows me to help individuals find their purpose in life on a daily basis. Being able to see individuals grow as an adult is what makes me look forward to each day. I am in recovery myself for alcoholism and addiction. I was born and raised in the north suburbs of Chicago and got sober in Saint Paul, Minnesota. After inpatient treatment, I did over two years of Managed Sober Housing in the twin cities. This was one of the best decisions of my life. In my free time, I enjoy being active. I love the outdoors, going out for meals, socializing, and being part of the community. Spirituality is a big part of my everyday life thanks to AA. As an active member of AA, I am ab
le to enjoy all the little things life has in store for me while living life on life’s terms. Thanks to my continued support from family, friends, and the AA community, I get the opportunity to live happily in recovery one day at a time. It’s an absolute privilege that I get an opportunity to work with individuals in recovery in a safe and stable environment.

TIMMY BRAMMER
House Manager

My name is Timothy Brammer and I am the House Manager for Odyssey Sober Livings’ Men’s Managed Sober Living. Being of service to the recovery community and helping people to overcome addiction is my primary purpose. Through a program of recovery and the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, I have been able to overcome a 20-year life of addiction and alcoholism. I was born and raised in Everett, WA but traveled to Palm Springs CA where I spent 9 months in a treatment facility and Sober Living. Through hard work, I moved into Sober House Management and eventually the Program Manager for the Treatment Center that helped me change my life and I am blessed for that opportunity. Today I have multiple years of sobriety and a passion to help others find a better way of life through service, gratitude, and a 12 step program. It is a privilege to be able to carry a message of recovery and hope.

Kasey Mandich
Day Manager

My name is Kasey Mandich and I am the women’s day manager for Odyssey. It is an honor and privilege to be able to lead and model to women early in recovery, the way that so many did for me. With out structure and loving accountability, I wouldn’t have been successful in staying the course . I started using at 11 years old and when I was 18 I got in a head on collision and broke both of my feet, that is when my addiction to opiates began. I maintained for many years but the progression of the disease of addiction is inevitable. I ended up turning to heroin, which lead me down a path of darkness, hopelessness and which ultimately homelessness. After completing several short stints in treatment, a 15 month long program and a 12 step program ultimately gave me the tools I needed to maintain a life in recovery. I am coming up on 4 years clean and I am so grateful to have had the obsession to use drugs and alcohol has been lifted. By working the 12 steps, going to meetings, being of service and now giving back what I was so freely given. I learned to truly love myself and now I get to share that love with the women at Odyssey. Using was my life for so long, now I chase my recovery like I used to chase the escape that drugs provided. Recovery is my life today and I will forever do everything I can to give back to women just like me.
