Our Vision

Next Step Housing (NSH) develops affordable, safe and healthy communities where individuals and families can improve their lives and raise their children in a clean and sober environment. Since 1991, NSH has been and remains one of the leading providers of service-enriched, permanent housing in Alcohol and Drug Free Communities (ADFC’s) in Washington State.

Our Communities

NSH is celebrating over 26 years of housing special needs individuals and families in Central Washington. In 2016, 60% of our residents were homeless when they first applied for housing. We are the only non-profit housing provider in the State that combines individuals living with long-term sobriety from substance abuse and their families with individuals and families living with Developmental Disabilities. Because both groups experience similar marginalization in society, this integration of special needs populations has proven successful. Their parallel capacities and needs make them good neighbors.

Our Zero Tolerance Policy

All of our housing communities enjoy a Zero Tolerance of Alcohol and Drug Use, both on and off the premises. This is ensured by random, monthly, observed Urine-Analysis and Breathalyzer checks. Residents who return to substance abuse are immediately required to remedy or leave the community to ensure the safety of our residents in long-term sobriety.

Our Fair Housing Policy

Next Step Housing does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, parental or familial status, political ideology, possession or use of a Section 8 certificate, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical handicap, or the use of a trained guide or service animal. NSH does not discriminate on any basis prohibited by applicable law.

ODYSSEY SOBER LIVING- Seattle, Washington

ABOUT ODYSSEY SOBER LIVING HOUSING

It starts with a safe environment to live in. We provide sober homes where guests come to rebuild their lives based upon a new foundation of sobriety.

To provide safe drug and alcohol free housing solutions for a diverse population of people.

Odyssey Sober living was created to SHORTEN your journey to long term sobriety by providing a structured, accountable, compassionate place to heal and rebuild your life. We KNOW it is made easier with a safe environment shared by others who have experienced many of the same pitfalls and had similar struggles including staying clean and sober.

A full time, live-in manager helps to provide the structure and accountability necessary for a safe environment optimal for recovery. The value in living with others like us is creating a community to rely on when we can’t necessarily rely on ourselves ‘just yet’. Residents are drug tested on a regular basis to ensure a clean and safe house. One on one interactions between clients and staff ensure that our clients are accountable and have a safe and comfortable environment to rebuild their lives in.

RECOVERY PROGRAM

What we have found, in our many years of experience, is what works the best, for the most is a structured recovery program. Based on that it is necessary for our residents to work a “program of recovery”. To us that means the twelve step programs of Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous. We certainly encourage other recovery programs as well including Smart Recovery or Refuge Recovery. We require residents to attend and work their programs which often include Outpatient Treatment and/or some form of therapy.

PRODUCTIVE LIVING

For us productive living means life goes on in a self supporting way. Many addicts lives have STOPPED being productive as a result of their addiction. Living in one of our houses commits a resident to daily chores, wake up times, curfews, return to work, going to school, volunteering or participating in the community in some way that assists in regaining self worth and independence. It is a place to gain or regain the live skills necessary to be successful at living life.
